Window Friction Hinges
Upgrade or repair your double-glazed windows with our premium range of replacement window hinges, also known as friction hinges. Designed to fit most modern uPVC windows, our replacement hinges are tested to British Standards and available in a variety of styles including fire escape (egress), easy clean, and restricted hinges with safety catches.Each pair of replacement window hinges is designed to support the weight of your window sash, so selecting the correct stack height and hinge length is essential for proper functionality and a neat finish. Please check the product specification to ensure compatibility, especially when replacing existing hinges.
Our standard friction hinges are suitable for most uPVC windows with an 18mm track width. If your current hinges have a 15mm track width, please contact us with measurements before ordering.
Types Available:
- Fire Escape/Easy Clean Hinges: Ideal for side-hung windows, offering full opening for emergency escape and convenient centre-slide functionality for cleaning.
- Restricted Hinges: Feature a built-in safety restrictor catch, perfect for added security in homes with young children.
- Standard Hinges: A reliable replacement for most existing uPVC window hinges.
These hinges are not suitable for timber windows with butt hinges. For uPVC, aluminium, or modern timber double-glazed systems, our friction stays provide long-lasting, smooth operation.
