What to Check and Measure When Replacing a Window Espag Lock
When choosing a replacement espagnolette (espag) rod, it’s important to measure the following:

1. Rail length: Full length of the rod, end to end.
2. Screw hole centres: Most espag rods use the industry standard of 43mm.
3. Cam height: Height of the projecting locking cam (often a mushroom cam), interchangeable with roller cams.
4. Backset: Distance from the front face of the gearbox to the centre of the handle’s screw holes.
5. Rail width: Width of the rod side to side, usually 16mm.

These details will help you find the correct replacement quickly and accurately.
